What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse (RN) - Float Pool position at 11.8730 Nursing Float Pool?
Reporting to the Director of Medical/Surgical Services, the staff RN performs professional role functions in accordance with scope of practice and professional standards, including demonstrating the knowledge and ability to use and/or lead the scope of practice, professional standards and accreditation / regulatory standards, scope of practice for LVN and all other nursing personnel e.g. unlicensed assistive personnel. The RN demonstrates the ability to assess their own professional role performance, current knowledge of theory and principles related to discipline specific practice, and the ability to use a population based approach to determine patient needs. This position is expected to float to Medical/Surgical, Spine & Joint Institute, Telemetry, ICU, Emergency, Observation, PACU, Surgery Prep, and the Transitional Care Unit. Float differential is not applicable.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program required.
- 3 years of acute-care RN experience with minimum of 1 recent years in Emergency or ICU (within 4 years) required.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
- Current CA State Licensure as a Registered Nurse required
- Current CPR American Heart Association certification required
- Current ACLS American Heart Association certification required
- Successful completion of an arrhythmia recognition course required
- Upon Hire successful passing of RCH basic arrhythmia recognition exam required
- Current PALS American Heart Association certification preferred upon hire, required within 2 month of hire.
- Current MAB or CPI (non-violent crisis protection/intervention) required within 1 month of hire.
- Current NIHSS certificate preferred upon hire, required within 1 month of hire.
