The House Person supports the Hotel Housekeeping team by maintaining the cleanliness of resort hallways and storage areas in alignment with company policies and 4-Star/4-Diamond service standards. This role also assists Room Attendants by stocking housekeeping carts, managing soiled linens, and replenishing clean linen supplies. The House Person interacts with guests in a professional, courteous manner and ensures a clean, welcoming environment throughout the resort.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleans assigned hotel hallways, storage rooms, and common areas in accordance with training guidelines and cleanliness standards.
  • Ensures all work areas meet or exceed 4-Star/4-Diamond quality expectations.
  • Assists Room Attendants by stocking carts before and after shifts and preparing supplies for incoming shifts.
  • Collects and bags soiled linens, transporting them to designated staging areas for laundry service pickup.
  • Restocks clean linens in storage rooms and on carts as needed.
  • Uses approved cleaning products, chemicals, and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • Provides excellent guest service through polite and professional interactions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to interact with guests and team members in a courteous, diplomatic, and professional manner.
  • Strong understanding of guest service standards and teamwork.
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in hotel housekeeping operations required.
  • Two (2) years of hotel housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment, tools, and safe handling of chemicals in a hotel or commercial setting.
  • Ability to perform detailed cleaning and support duties in guest rooms, corridors, lobbies, and public areas.
  • Experience assisting room attendants by delivering linens, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and safe work practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in a hotel, resort, or large-scale hospitality environment preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Communication Skills: Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions; able to communicate clearly with housekeeping staff, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Frequently lifts, pushes, and pulls carts, linen bags, mattresses, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds; occasional team lifting of heavier items.
  • Manual Dexterity: Regular use of hands to handle tools, replenish supplies, transport equipment, and perform light maintenance or setup tasks.
  • Mobility: Constantly moves throughout hotel property, including guest floors, hallways, and storage areas; involves walking, standing, bending, stooping, and climbing stairs or ladders.
  • Stationary Work: Occasionally remains in one position while stocking or organizing supplies in storage areas.
  • Tool Operation: Frequent use of housekeeping carts, vacuums, dollies, cleaning tools, and basic maintenance equipment.
  • Visual Acuity: Requires visual attention to safely move equipment, spot cleaning needs, and monitor inventory and room readiness.
  • Working Conditions: Regularly works throughout hotel property including guest areas and service corridors with exposure to cleaning chemicals, variable indoor temperatures, moderate to high noise levels, and a smoking environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions. Frequently use of stairs and elevators. Must have a comfort level for working in a multi-floor tower.

WORKING HOURS:

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
