Logistics Specialist (Driver)

Position Summary

The Logistics Specialist (Driver) is responsible for performing all standard Logistics Specialist duties while serving as the primary operator of the company's 26-foot flatbed truck. This position supports field operations by safely transporting materials, equipment, tools, and supplies between company facilities, vendor locations, and job sites. The ideal candidate has prior commercial truck driving experience, a strong safety mindset, and is comfortable assisting with warehouse and logistics operations when not driving.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Transportation & Driving

• Safely operate a 26-foot flatbed truck to transport materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload cargo in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Ensure proper load distribution and securement using straps, chains, tarps, and other tie-down equipment.
• Plan efficient delivery routes while meeting project schedules.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance or repair needs promptly.
• Complete delivery logs, vehicle inspection reports, mileage records, and other required documentation.

Logistics Operations

• Perform all responsibilities of a Logistics Specialist, including:
  • Receiving incoming deliveries.
  • Organizing warehouse inventory.
  • Preparing equipment and materials for deployment.
  • Delivering tools and supplies to project sites.
  • Assisting with inventory counts and stock control.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Coordinating with project managers, field supervisors, and procurement staff.
  • Assisting with equipment check-in/check-out procedures.
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness and organization.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies and DOT regulations.
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (training provided if necessary).
• Wear required PPE and maintain a safe work environment.
• Immediately report accidents, safety concerns, or equipment issues.
• Ensure cargo is transported safely without damage.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating large commercial trucks, including 26-foot flatbed trucks or similar vehicles.
• Experience transporting construction materials, industrial equipment, or heavy loads preferred.
• Previous warehouse or logistics experience preferred.

Licenses

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
• CDL is preferred but not required if legally permitted to operate the assigned vehicle.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift heavier items with assistance or equipment.
• Ability to load, unload, climb, bend, kneel, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certification.
• Experience in construction, industrial, or semiconductor project logistics.
• Experience towing trailers.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections and minor maintenance.
