The Human Resources & Office Administrator will be responsible for overseeing HR functions, payroll, benefits administration, compliance tracking, and general office support. This role requires excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to balance employee support with administrative and compliance responsibilities.
You will play a key role in supporting our employees, ensuring accurate payroll and benefits administration, and maintaining compliance with state and federal requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead your role with accountability, teach those in your circle, be held accountable to your direct report(s) and support the team through HR knowledge and administrative guidance.
- Manage HR functions including recruiting, hiring ads, onboarding, employee records, and training setup.
- Administer employee benefits (health insurance, 401k, workers’ comp, and annual open enrollment).
- Support compliance with OSHA, DOT, licensing renewals, and company audits.
- Manage employee engagement activities, soft benefits, and internal communications.
- Handle office administration tasks such as answering phones, greeting visitors, coordinating mail, and ordering supplies.
- Assist finance with reconciliations, tax filings, and reporting as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors, service providers, and benefit carriers
- Organize / attend meetings related to HR, compliance, or office operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency with office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google G-Suite, QuickBooks Online, payroll/benefits portals).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of HR compliance requirements and employment regulations.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in HR or office administration (construction industry a plus).
Direct Reports:
- None (may oversee office support staff in the future).
Supervisor:
- Reports directly to: CFO
- Indirectly reports to: COO
Additional Information:
- Work Environment: Office settings, in-person role.
- Travel Requirements: Minimal, limited to compliance or training needs.
