About the Company
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to support the efficient execution of the company's accounting and financial operations. In this role, you will partner closely with accounting leadership to oversee critical accounting functions, including accounts receivable, fixed assets, banking relationships, tax compliance, financial reporting, audits, and month-end close activities. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment while contributing to process improvements, financial accuracy, and strategic business decision-making.
About the Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will be a trusted financial partner supporting both day-to-day accounting operations and long-term business objectives. You will analyze financial data, maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide reporting and insights that support operational and financial success. You will collaborate with internal departments, external auditors, financial institutions, and business leaders to maintain strong financial controls and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare and maintain monthly closing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Manage Accounts Receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate customer payments.
- Support internal and external audits, including mid-year and year-end financial audits.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and inventory-related accounting activities.
- Review accounting reports and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and GAAP.
- Prepare Sales and Use Tax filings for multiple states.
- Provide financial reporting, analysis, and support to internal stakeholders.
- Conduct cost analysis and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Generate depreciation projections and maintain fixed asset records.
- Interface inventory and cost accounting modules with the general ledger.
- Lead weekly accounting department meetings.
- Assist leadership with special projects, process improvements, and financial analyses.
- Serve as a backup resource for various accounting department functions.
- Develop, maintain, and update accounting procedures and process documentation.
- Support ERP initiatives, system enhancements, and process optimization projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting and financial experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of automotive manufacturing experience.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of tax laws applicable to manufacturing organizations.
- Experience with financial reporting, audits, account reconciliations, fixed assets, banking activities, insurance, and benefit plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
- Experience preparing financial statements and managing general ledger activities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

Pay range and compensation package
Competitive compensation package: Salary $80K to 90K
