What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heating and Air Conditioning Instructor position at Moraine Valley Community College?
Teaching duties will consist of instruction in all facets of heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration. This position requires a strong commitment to student-centered success in the HVACR industry. Duties include various faculty responsibilities; it is preferred that the role will serve as program coordinator.
Education/Experience
Associates degree, or “journeyman status” in an HAC related union (HAC pipefitters, HAC sheet metal work, HAC controls technicians, and HAC building engineers) with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience, OR equivalent training and experience in a non-union environment with a minimum of five (5) years of experience required.
2,000 hours of relevant HVAC work experience required.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will maintain the highest standards for classroom instruction. Applies innovative teaching methods and demonstrates ability to work with students at all skill levels. Teaching duties will consist of preparing, instructing, and evaluating courses; seeking continuous improvement in teaching methodology and student-centered learning.
