Job Description: The position, Early Prevention Interventionist Part-Time works with Moore Youth and Family Services to provide support to clients in the K-12 system through on-site services that support clients who would benefit from rehabilitative services, case management, or light intervention needs. This role supervises a team to reach clients who need services at schools and through supports the camp programs alongside the Early Prevention Education team.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide screening, assessment, individual and group services to the range of “at risk” students in various secondary school settings.
- Provide direct intervention services to children and their family members who are
victims of child abuse and other violent crimes.
- Promote the functions of core teams in individual schools, identifying and referring students to appropriate internal resources and when appropriate, facilitate parent and student awareness of external resources.
- Work to support the MTSS model of behavior intervention.
- Facilitate community linkages between schools, agencies and community organizations to implement direct services. Attend various functions to facilitate community awareness.
- Work at schools on a rotational basis using data determined to be highest level of need from elementary through high schools.
- Offer case management tools, rehab interventions, and strategies to support students on-site and further reinforce work done by school MHP’s.
- Develop, as needed, additional curriculums and classroom presentations for students and faculty.
- Facilitate groups and workshops for schools that are aligned with psycho-social learning and rehabilitative intervention strategies.
- Participate and engage in agency summer and spring break camps.
- Maintain appropriate recording and services, meeting all required standards.
- Assist in program needs assessments and evaluation process.
- Maintain responsibilities in keeping with agency policies and procedures.
- Ability to be flexible in scheduled hours including assistance with crisis intervention.
- Assist with Program Reports and duties as needed.
- Attend staff meetings and provide information to support the public school and agency partnership.
- Regular case management supports including case staffings with school staff.
- Support agency policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the agency.
Required Education and Experience:
- Licensed Behavioral Health Professional, Certified Prevention Specialist, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or staff working toward certification or licensure in one of the above disciplines OR
- A Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work, Case Management Certification, and 1 year of work in social services or a similar field to be determined by the agency.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with school personnel.
- Thorough understanding of chemical dependency with clinical abilities in assessment and early intervention.
- Thorough understanding of adolescent development and possess skill in working with individuals and groups in the clinical and school setting.
- Working knowledge of counseling, crisis intervention, prevention and intervention principles to the range of “at risk” youth.
- Working knowledge of counseling, crisis intervention, prevention and intervention principles to those who have been victims of crime.
- Ability to maintain flexibility in response to evolving priorities in a clinical setting, the school context and the program at large.
Work Environment:
The work environment is a temperature-controlled school environment most times. All staff are required to attend meetings, serve on committees on behalf of the agency, and may need to travel up to 80% of their work schedule to accommodate the needs of the agency. Minimal lifting, bending, and dexterity of movement is required for this position. The designated schedule for this position is determined upon hire by the Clinical Director and Early Prevention Education Coordinator. This position is expected to work no less than 22 hours per week and no more than 25 hours per week as required by the agency.
Salary:
Moore Youth and Family Services provides part-time employees with 5 days of paid leave after 1 year of employment. The rate for this position is $20 per hour.
