Description
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for directing their production team in the areas of production, scheduling, safety, maintenance, and quality. The position requires competencies that include molding, tooling, quality, inspection, and supervision. Must properly handle material, molded product, and related inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Lead in execution of daily production tasks, work scheduling, training, and entering work orders for maintenance
- Assist in troubleshooting and adjusting molding parameters to maintain quality and maximum product output
- Assist in startup and shutdown of molding machines, robots, and secondary equipment and purging
- Assist in developing corrective actions for customer issues
- Monitor use of the tablet and hand scanner for inventory control system to track labor, runtime/downtime hours, good parts, reject scrap parts, and assist in scanning all serialized finished production
- Ensure accuracy of completed production sheets
- Monitors regrind levels and usage at each workstation on the production floor
- Monitor the Lead Teams use of hand scanners for raw and finished product flow
- Change work orders at locations as job completes, update board, maintain proper documentation
- Complete end of shift reporting in inventory control system
- Routine hourly checks of each machine for quality; this may require support with sorting, reworking, or re-packing based on what is needed to meet customer expectations
- Routine hourly checks of each machine for production; monitor cycle times per the inventory control system and the Bill of Materials
- Use of moisture analyzer to document required data and maintain documentation
- Complete any required process documentation and ensure accuracy
- Coordinate tooling and equipment availability, repair, and maintenance; issue work orders as needed
- Respond to problems by performing corrective technical or mechanical solutions
- Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to policies, safety standards, and cleanliness
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment
- Maintain the areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition according to company standard
- Floor conditions clean at all times including free from clutter, oil, debris, and water
- Escape routes, fire extinguishers, and electrical panels are unobstructed
- All scrap produced during shift ground prior to end of shift
- Material and product put away in the correct location and orderly fashion
- Dumpster area is clean
- Avoid excess packaging on production floor
- Monitor stacking of gaylords; stacked properly and not more than 2 high
- Report any safety issues immediately
- Other duties and secondary functions as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48, $60,000.00 per year
