DELI ASSOCIATE

The Deli Associate focuses on excellent guest care, greeting each one and ensuring guest satisfaction, working hard to craft and present delicious sandwiches, pastas, desserts, and other deli case products.

Deli Associate Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties as assigned

● Greet all guests with fast, friendly, personalized service and develop a rapport with guests by learning their names and preferred menu items.

● Answer telephone in a courteous and friendly manner including, but not limited to, giving store greetings, directions to store location and receiving and filling guest orders.

● Slices meats and cheeses to meet guest preferences. Weighs and wraps sliced foods and applies stickers showing price and weight.

● Prepares ready to eat food such as chicken, pizzas, hoagies and sandwiches to individual order of guests. Prepares platters of sliced meats, cheeses and vegetable trays.

● Ensures freshness and condition of merchandise in display cases along with proper prices and correct signs, restocking and rotating for freshness. Handles spoiled or damaged products or products close to expiration according to company procedures and standards.

● Ensure a sanitary work environment that meets local and state health regulations, cleaning deli area, equipment; sweeping and mopping regularly, emptying trash.

● Minimize losses by returning products to refrigeration, properly handling products, keeping necessary logs and following company recipes. May help receive, unload and check incoming product. Reports shortages and overages to manager.

● Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring accurate charges, returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.

● Maintains or exceeds standards of personal appearance, grooming, cleanliness, and hygiene. This includes wearing proper uniform at all times while working.

● All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager or assigned supervisor.

Deli Associate Qualifications and Skills:

The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

● Regularly stand and walk for eight to ten hours; climb sets of stairs repetitively throughout shift; occasionally required to sit, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl.

● Consistently reach shoulder level, above head and below waist; push, pull, lift and carry five (5) pounds including up flights of stairs, occasionally lift excess of twenty-five (25) pounds.

● Must be able to work in environmental exposure to low or high volume noise, cold, heat, water, and cleaning materials.

● Passible understanding of English Language, writing skills and basic mathematics.
