Job Summary:
The Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator develops, implements, and oversees school-based and community-based employment experiences that connect students’ academic learning with real-world career opportunities. The coordinator ensures program compliance with state and federal guidelines, collaborates with employers and educators, and supports students in achieving meaningful postsecondary employment outcomes as related to students’ IEP goals. Licensure and Experience:

• Required: Minnesota state licensure from PELSB in Special Education for appropriate area of specialization.
• Required: Valid Minnesota driver’s license.
• Preferred: Experience working with secondary transition aged students.
• Preferred: Minnesota state licensure from PELSB in Teacher Coordinator Work Based Learning.

Essential Skills Required:

• Implement state and federal laws, statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to special education and Work Based Learning responsibilities
• Follow and implement all due process and timeline requirements in special education
• Work well with students with severe Autism and/or Developmental Cognitive Disabilities
• Collaborate and work closely with a team of teachers and related services staff
• Work with community leaders/businesses to secure and develop work-based learning sites
• Establishes a culture for learning by supporting the mission, beliefs and the strategic plan of the district
• Maintain confidentiality of information about students, staff and families
• Experience working with diverse students and families - experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred

Salary Range: $44,182 - $90,327 for 1 FTE
