Position Overview: As a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing and coding for our surgical services. You will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure that all services are billed appropriately and efficiently. Your attention to detail and knowledge of medical coding standards will help us maintain our commitment to quality care and financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Review and analyze medical records for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on denials.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, regulations, and payer policies.
- Assist in the resolution of billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies.
- Generate and review reports to ensure timely collections and identify trends.
Compensation and Benefits:
This position pays a competitive rate of $29.00-38.00 per hour depending on the level of experience. We offer a full suite of benefits including 401k with company match, medical, dental, vision and life insurance, as well as voluntary Aflac plans. We have a generous PTO schedule, and our staff enjoy a Monday-Friday schedule.

Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in medical billing and coding or a related field preferred.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Minimum of [2-3] years of experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in an ambulatory surgery or outpatient setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding principles.
- Proficient in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
