Physician Assistant – Disability & Occupational Health Exams

About the Role 

Monterey Medical is seeking a Part-Time or PRN dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our team in Batavia, NY with flexibility on days/week.  In this rewarding role, you will provide high-quality care by conducting medical disability evaluations for Veterans and Separating Military Members, along with occupational health exams such as Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals and pre-employment assessments. 

Responsibilities 

• Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams for Veterans. 

• Conduct pre-discharge physical exams for active-duty service members. 

• Provide occupational physicals including DOT exams, pre-employment exams, fit-for-duty exams, and health assessments. 

• Complete thorough documentation and maintain accurate patient records. 

• Educate patients as appropriate. 

• No ongoing treatment or follow-up required. 

Qualifications 

• Unrestricted State NP license to practice. 

• Certified Medical Examiner (CME) (required for DOT physicals) – training and certification provided if needed. 

• Experience with Compensation & Pension exams preferred but not required. 

• Competence in performing: 

• Musculoskeletal assessments with range of motion. 

• Pulmonary function test (PFT) interpretation. 

• ECG interpretation. 

• Pelvic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary examinations. 

• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique in clinical settings. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
