Join us as a Medical Technologist at the VA Boston Healthcare System located in West Roxbury, MA.
Duties include:
- Perform routine chemistry testing on automated instrumentation.
- Perform routine daily and weekly quality control and instrument maintenance.
- Urinalysis testing
- Blood banking
- Hematology/coagulation
- Microbiology
- Perform patient and QC testing
- Independently test, evaluate, document, and report patient testing and quality control.
- Identify, document, and resolve collection, processing, testing, or reporting issues.
Schedule: Full time, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts available. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime. No on-call or stand-by duties required.
Period of Performance: 6 months, 4/1/2026-9/30/2026.

What we do:
Monterey teams with general practice, specialists, and allied health practitioners nationwide to provide local coverage for examinees. We deliver a wide range of medical examination-only services to public sectors and the individuals they serve. Our clients include the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), the Department of Labor, the Department of Defense, and more. Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events.

Qualifications:- Education. Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in medical laboratory science, medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or in a related science (laboratory sciences such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, immunology, etc.) AND completion of a medical technology clinical practice program
- Certification. Must be a nationally certified Medical Technologist (AMT, MLS, or CLS).
- Experience. Minimum 3 years of chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, hematology, coagulation, and microbiology experience.
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, Section A, paragraph 3.j.
- Subject to background/security investigation.
- All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- Must pass TB test.
- Complete and online onboarding process.
- Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Salary : $34 - $39
