Job Summary
The Pharmacy Liaison is responsible for supporting the coordination and fulfillment of prescriptions from outpatient physician practices. The role involves ensuring prescriptions are filled safely and without delays by focusing on coordinating prescription access, completing prior authorizations, assisting with patient financial support programs, and routing prescriptions to the appropriate contract pharmacy. The Pharmacy Liaison serves as a key link between patients, prescribers, pharmacies, payers, and the care team. They will ensure confidentiality, verify and input data accurately, and respond promptly and compassionately to patient inquiries. The role also requires recognizing when language assistance is needed, and handling emergency situations, provider concerns, and general questions with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency
Essential Functions

1. Demonstrates knowledge of prescription workflows, insurance processes, and prior authorization requirements. Efficiently identifies and resolves barriers to medication fulfillment.
2. Understands patient assistance programs, manufacturer copay cards, and foundation grants. Helps patients access medications affordably while ensuring compliance with payer and 340B guidelines.
3. Verify insurance coverage and determine patient eligibility. Complete and track prior authorization requests, exploring available grants or patient assistance programs to secure coverage for non-formulary or high-cost medications.
4. Collaborates effectively with pharmacists, prescribers, case managers, and contract pharmacy partners. Communicates clearly to prevent therapy delays and ensure continuity of care. - CUSTOMER SERVICE:

Qualifications
- High School Required or
- GED Required
- Medical office or retail pharmacy experience with knowledge of prescription drug insurance and prior authorization processes Required
- Certified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Required
- Registered Pharmacy Technician - New York State Board of Pharmacy within 90 Days Required
