Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our retail pharmacy team. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a retail pharmacy setting, preferably in an independent retail pharmacy, and should be familiar with PrimeRx / Micro Merchant pharmacy software.
Applicants should have at least 2 years of pharmacy technician experience and be comfortable handling prescriptions, assisting customers, managing inventory, processing insurance claims, and supporting pharmacists in day-to-day pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with accurately preparing, processing, and dispensing prescriptions.
- Enter and process prescriptions using pharmacy software, preferably PrimeRx / Micro Merchant.
- Handle insurance billing, rejections, prior authorization follow-ups, and claim troubleshooting.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients in person and over the phone.
- Manage prescription intake, refill requests, and patient profile updates.
- Maintain medication inventory, including ordering, stock replenishment, expiration checks, and proper storage.
- Assist with labeling, packaging, and organizing prescriptions for pickup or delivery.
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, insurance companies, and healthcare offices.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and follow all pharmacy laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support the pharmacist in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient pharmacy environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience required.
- Experience in a retail pharmacy setting required.
- Experience in an independent retail pharmacy is highly preferred.
- Experience with PrimeRx / Micro Merchant is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of prescription processing, insurance billing, and pharmacy workflow.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification is preferred but not required.
