We have a fantastic opportunity for a Part -Time Patient Access Rep at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital.
Job Summary
This position is accountable for managing day to day administrative and fiscal services within the department and serving as a liaison with corporate oversight functions to assure the accuracy and flow of information in support of clinical and fiscal departmental and hospital objectives.
Essential Functions
- Receives incoming phone calls and schedules appointments.
- Follows up on labs and other test ordered by provider. Schedules specialty appointments or test/ procedures on behalf of patient. Tracks appointments status of referrals and obtains results from specialist to close the loop on all MD ordered tests and referrals. Ensures what insurances are require a referrals and obtains authorizations where needed.
- Copies are made of the patients driver's license and insurance cards both sides must be copied and scanned into Allscripts at time of registration. Enters correct address of patient and correct insurance codes and ins. address into Allscripts as given by patient and through review of insurance cards.
- All scheduled patients are pre-registered either by reps assigned to these duties (meet the 6 minutes per patient benchmark) or as downtime allows. Explains payment policy to patients depending on insurance and ensures payment us accurate for type of service on time of service.
- Communicate via phone notes, email, or calls.
- Assist providers with any administrative needs such as faxing documents, calling patients, locating patient charts.
- Provides and manages phones calls and transfer of calls, paging overhead services for small clinic.
- Strives to improve departmental image through department activities and meetings. Speaks in a positive manner when discussing the hospital and department. All other duties that may arise.

- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft operating systems. Operates automated PC workstation for registration, scheduling, co-payments,
insurance verification, transportation system, billing system, patient insurance portals. Will also use fax machine, copiers, telephones, and
scanners.
Salary : $24
