Montefiore Mount Vernon, a community hospital which is part of Montefiore Einstein is seeking a Pathology Assistant to join the team

Position Summary:

The Pathology Assistant performs all duties under the general supervision of the attending Pathologist and be able to work independently as the need arises. Must be proficient with proper dissection of small, large and complicated specimens. Must be able to determine which sections of tissue are to be submitted for processing based on established pathology guidelines and employee knowledge base.

Education and Requirements:

• Master's of Science Degree obtained through the NAACLS
• Completion of an American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) board exam.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Prior experience triaging, handling of pathology specimens; dictating gross descriptions; sectioning specimens sizes and presenting various complications.
