The Administrative Assistant to the Head of School provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Head of School. The role also supports advancement efforts—including donor relations, communications, and event coordination—to strengthen community engagement and advance the school’s forward-looking, Christ-centered mission, vision, and values.
Essential Job Duties
Head of School Support
Any combination of education and/or relevant professional experience providing the necessary and required skill(s)/knowledge for successful job performance is acceptable:
Employee acknowledges that he/she has been informed of and understands MVC’s Christian distinctives, vision, and mission as a California-based religious corporation. Additionally, the employee agrees that he/she shall do nothing to his/her relationship with MVC to undermine its Christian mission or efforts. Finally, the employee further agrees and understands that his/her services are a necessary part of MVC’s Christian work, and that his/her conduct must conform to the school’s formal Standards of Conduct and Statement of Faith, as listed in both the school’s employment application and MVC Employee Handbook.

Employee understands and acknowledges that, unless otherwise defined by applicable law, any employment relationship with MVC is of an “at will” nature, which means that the Employee may resign at any time and the Employer may discharge the Employee at any time, with or without cause. It is further understood that this “at will” employment relationship may not be changed by any written document or by conduct, unless the MVC Head of School specifically acknowledges such change in writing.

The Administrative Assistant to the Head of School provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Head of School. Essential Job Duties
Head of School Support
- Possess and model a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Embody the four values of the school - Make Christ Known, See Every Person, Craft Beauty, and Laugh Together.
- Manage and coordinate the Head of School’s calendar, appointments, and daily schedule to ensure optimal time management and efficiency.
- Support events hosted by the Head of School (Board meetings, third-party visitors, networking events, etc.) with setup, logistics, and on-site assistance.
- Provide on-site support for campus-wide employee professional development events, including setup, logistics, and attendee assistance.
- Support and manage the Administration budget, including data entry and tracking.
- Provide in-person oversight of major school events in coordination with the Head of School and Assistant Head of School.
- Any other duties, projects, tasks, and responsibilities, as assigned by the Head of School.
- Assist with donor relations, including tracking, acknowledgments, and communications.
- Support advancement communications such as newsletters, updates, and campaigns.
- Assist in the coordination of advancement and community events (fundraisers, receptions, etc.).
- Maintain donor database and engagement records.

- Ability to keep an exceedingly high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to serve effectively as a team player within the Christ-centered mission and core values of Monte Vista Christian School.
- Ability to safely lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to operate relevant office equipment.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, and/or squat for prolonged periods of time.
- Work outside periodically, over multiple terrains, and in varying weather conditions, as needed.
