Camp Mustang Leader – Job Description

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Camp Dates: June 8 – July 24, 2026

Position Type: Part-time and full-time seasonal positions available

Pay: $18.00–$20.00 per hour; $25.00 per hour Camp Mustang Leader with lifeguard certification.

Overview

Camp Mustang at Monte Vista Christian School is looking for energetic, responsible, and Christ-centered individuals to serve as Camp Leaders for our summer day camp serving children ages 5–12. This role is ideal for those who love working with kids, thrive in an active outdoor environment, and want to make a lasting impact through Christian leadership.

Responsibilities

Camp Leaders are responsible for leading, supervising, and engaging campers in a variety of daily activities, including but not limited to:

• Recreational games and team sports
• Arts and crafts
• Drama and music
• Nature exploration and hikes
• Water play and pool time (lifeguard support on-site)
  
  

Leaders will model positive behavior, encourage camper participation, and work as part of a collaborative team to ensure a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for all children.

Additional Information

This is a seasonal position based on Monte Vista Christian School’s campus in Watsonville, CA. Applicants must be available for the full camp session, Monday through Friday. Staff training will occur prior to the start of camp.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• A heart for working with children and creating a Christ-centered camp experience
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lead groups of children with confidence and care
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred (training opportunities may be available)
• Previous experience working with children or in a camp setting is recommended but not required
  
  

Salary Description

$18.00-$25.00/hr
