Reporting to the department chair and supervised by the dean of the college, the Writing faculty will also support the mission, purpose, and goals of City College at Montana State University Billings. Responsibilities include delivering courses and teaching up to 30 credits for the academic year of General Education Department specific and department-related coursework, collaborating with peer department instructors to ensure courses and curriculum meet student and business needs, providing academic advising of program students as necessary, and assisting with retention and resource development activities.General

- Teach up to 30 credit hours per year online and onsite in classroom and laboratory settings.
- Teach various writing courses, including, but not limited to, WRIT101: College Writing I, WRIT121: Intro to Technical Writing and WRIT122: Intro to Business Writing
- Teach corequisite or “enhanced” courses
- Collaborate with related programs regarding their needs for writing curriculum
- Support student success including office hours and advising.
- Improve and refine curriculum and course content to meet the needs of changing student populations.
- Assess student learning at the course, program, and institutional level.Service

- Master’s degree with 9 graduate credits in English or a related field from a regionally accredited University.Experience Required:

- Experience using a variety of teaching and assessment techniques to enhance student success.
- Experience with teaching traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.Education Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in English or WritingExperience Preferred:
- Educational background in instructional methodology.
- Experience teaching underprepared/developmental learners.
- Demonstrated experience teaching with a Learning Management System (i.e. Desire2Learn, Canvas, etc).Special Requirements:Applicants will be reviewed and interviewed on an ongoing basis after the screening date.
