Requirements
- Must have NYS Certification in TESOL
- Bilingual preferred
- Must meet NYSED Fingerprinting requirements
- Knowledge of school organization, goals and objectives, curriculum, teaching techniques, current trends, research, and materials of instruction in field of specialization
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process
- Ability to infuse technology into curriculum
- Devotion to students’ feeling of connection, Social-Emotional learning and development, and sense of belonging in a hybrid or fully remote learning environment
- Skilled in tracking student progress toward achieving goals and communicating progress to parents regularly
- Knowledge of various assessment tools (running records, etc.) through virtual means (GoogleMeet preferred)
- Experience in differentiating instruction to meet students’ needs and encouraging student growth and progress across content areas through the use of small group instruction, breakout rooms, and targeted individual support
- Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds who have diverse skills and needs
- Desire to grow as a part of a professional community by utilizing research-based tools, practices, and approaches to support varied means of instructional practice and delivery, student learning, and students’ overall growth and achievement
- Possesses exemplary interpersonal skills and tools for collaboration with all school faculty, staff, administrators, and families in service to students
- Other responsibilities, as assigned, based on the needs of the school and its scholars
