TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Month, Full Time, Probationary
STARTING DATE: September 8, 2026
SALARY RANGE: $48,500 - $78,642 per school year .. Final salary offer will be prorated based on duration of Long-Term Substitute assignment

- Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
- Plan and provide instruction for students with disabilities in accordance with NYS mandates and standards.
- Provide instruction for middle school students with social/emotional needs in a supportive and structured learning environment.
- Develop and prepare students for future training, independence, and potential employment pathways through hands-on, real-world experiences.
- Provide instruction in career opportunities, financial literacy, problem-solving, and innovation.
- Deliver instruction in woodworking, fabrication, and technology, including safe tool use, basic construction techniques, and design-based projects.
- Integrate design thinking and problem-solving processes into instruction to support creativity, collaboration, and real-world application.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet student needs and support progress toward individualized goals.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate lesson plans utilizing best instructional practices, differentiated instruction, and project-based learning.
- Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team to foster collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to learning.
- Effectively communicate with school staff, parents, districts, and community agencies.
- Manage, supervise, and support classroom team members, including teaching assistants.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment across all teaching spaces.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and required training.
- New York State Certification in Technology Education K-12 required.
- Serve Safe Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Experience working with students with disabilities at the middle or high school level.
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in basic food preparation, kitchen safety and sanitation, Monroe County Sanitation Code, purchasing food and supplies.
- Experience or ability to teach woodworking, fabrication, and safe use of tools and equipment.
- Training in Life Crisis Intervention strategies, TCI, or similar problem-solving approaches preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in implementing NYS standards and curriculum development.
- Ability to design and deliver integrated curriculum including FACS, technology, and applied life skills.
- Proven leadership in managing and supporting a classroom team preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
