Operations Finance Internship – Summer 2026
Schedule: First shift, flexible hours (9:00 AM–2:00 PM or 10:00 AM–3:00 PM)
Availability: Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Operations Finance Intern to support the finance and manufacturing teams at our Massachusetts-based food production facility. This internship offers hands-on experience in cost analysis, operational reporting, inventory tracking, and financial planning within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The intern will work closely with plant operations, supply chain, and accounting teams to help improve efficiency, control costs, and support business decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly operational finance reporting
• Support inventory reconciliation, material usage tracking, and variance analysis
• Analyze production costs, labor efficiency, waste, and manufacturing performance metrics
• Help prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models for plant operations
• Partner with operations and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Maintain and update spreadsheets, dashboards, and ERP system data
• Participate in month-end close activities and financial reporting processes
• Conduct ad hoc analysis related to production, procurement, and plant performance
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and finance departments
• Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and internal controls
Education and Experience:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Interest in manufacturing, operations, or the food industry preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
