Assistant Transportation Coordinator

  • Annual Salary Range: from $50,000 - $53,000
  • Family Medical; Prescription; Vision and Dental Benefits (eligible after 60 days)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Good Interpersonal Skills
  • Good Organizational Skills
  • Accuracy with Figures and Details
  • Good Telephone Communication Skills
  • Familiarity with Computers
  • Ability to Deal Effectively with Various Members of the Educational Community, Parents, Private Contractors and the General Public

REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation or Departmental Administrator

Performance Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operation of the Transportation Department
  • Enter and edit student data/routing in transportation database (i.e. Logic54)
  • Prepare routes for MOESC Contractual Districts Special Ed, Temporary, Vocational, Public and Non Public students (review, create, design the most efficient routes possible) based on school schedules and applicable laws.
  • Daily contact with member districts/contractors/parents/receiving schools via telephone/fax/e-mail to ensure proper operation of transportation program and problem solving
  • Prepare bids/renewals/quotes
  • Create student information reports for districts and schools; update frequently
  • Maintain an accurate and current filing system
  • Create and mail bus passes
  • Accident reporting
  • Handling of student incident reports with districts and receiving schools to ensure action is taken when necessary
  • Attend annual meetings (non-public county meeting, non-public calendar meeting, transportation meetings when requested)
  • Investigation of compliance - contractors' drivers and aides with Criminal History Review Unit and Motor Vehicle Commission
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Flexibility in learning new tasks and assignments
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-Time, Twelve Months

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provision of the MOESC's board's policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel.
