Position Summary:
The Recut Saw Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining metal-cutting saws to cut extrusions to specified dimensions. This role ensures precision, safety, and efficiency in the cutting process, supporting production schedules and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate METL saws (semi-automatic, or CNC-controlled) to cut metal extrusions to required lengths and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules.
- Measure and mark materials for cutting using precision measuring tools (Lineal Measuring Table, tape measures).
- Set up saws, adjust blade speeds, and change blades as needed.
- Inspect finished cuts for accuracy and quality; make adjustments as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of saw equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and 5S standards.
- Record production data and report any discrepancies or equipment issues.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1 years of experience operating industrial saws or similar machinery preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring instruments accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic math and mechanical skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing floor with exposure to noise, metal shavings, and moving machinery.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
