What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. High Girls Basketball Coach position at Momence Community Unit School District #1?
Position: This position is for a girls basketball coach for 6th, 7th, and 8th girls.
Expectations: The girls basketball coach will help athletes improve and develop their skills related to basketball. As the coach, your responsibilities include making sure athletes are training and practicing safely, preventing injuries and following all relevant IESA policies related to basketball. You will also work with the other coaches on staff to develop game plans and strategies that help the students improve and provide them with the greatest chance of success. In addition the coach will work with the other coaches on staff to account for all equipment, and uniforms, as well as managing the budget that is given to the basketball team in coordination with the basketball staff and atletic director.
Goal: Our number one goal for our coaches is to encourage athletes, build character, and to represent our school in a positive way. Winning is great, but we are focused on developing our athletes so they will posess the skills necessary to suceed in life both on the field and off it.
The position will be paid on Level D of the extra duty scale in the MEA teacher contract and the salary will range between $1884 - $3140 based on experience.
