Molariti, Inc. is seeking a Junior Scientist / Research Associate, Molecular Biology to support the development of our analytical biology capability for nucleic acid and lipid nanoparticle characterization. This is a highly hands-on laboratory role based on-site at The Engine, 750 Main St, Cambridge, MA, working closely with the Scientist / Senior Scientist, Molecular Biology and a multidisciplinary team of biologists, hardware engineers, and software engineers. The successful candidate will play a critical role in developing and executing the biological assays and workflows that turn a fundamentally novel measurement into a reliable analytical method. We are looking for a motivated and highly capable experimentalist who enjoys working at the bench, solving challenging biological problems, generating high-quality data, and contributing to the development of new technologies in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
Molecular Biology & Assay Development
- Execute experiments for the development and optimization of analytical methods to characterize DNA, RNA, and LNPs on the Molariti platform.
- Generate high-quality, reproducible experimental datasets and use quantitative analysis to derive meaning from results.
- Maintain accurate and thorough laboratory records, experimental protocols, and data.
- Identify experimental issues and proactively troubleshoot problems.
- Report to the Scientist / Senior Scientist, Molecular Biology, working closely together to drive product development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Team Contribution
- Work closely with the Molecular Biology, Engineering, and Software teams to prioritize experiments and meet project milestones.
- Take ownership of assigned experiments and deliver results reliably and on schedule.
- Maintain a collaborative, intellectually curious, and solutions-oriented approach to working in an early-stage company.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in life sciences or a related field
- 1 years of relevant laboratory experience, including academic or industry research experience
- Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, handling DNA, RNA, and/or LNPs
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Prior industry experience in analytical development, Quality Control, or nucleic acid therapeutics manufacturing
- Experience developing or optimizing quantitative biological assays
- Experience with analytical instrumentation or integrating biological assays with hardware
- Familiarity with quantitative data analysis and basic statistical methods
- Startup experience or demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
