A growing international food distribution company is hiring a Safety Manager to support safety programs across warehouse, fleet, transportation, and distribution operations. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to work with managers, drivers, forklift operators, and warehouse teams to improve safety performance and reduce accidents.

The position can sit in the Kearny / Newark, NJ area and requires approximately 50% travel to company locations. When not traveling, this person is expected to work onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead safety compliance support across transportation and warehouse operations

• Ensure alignment with OSHA, DOT, FMCSR, and company safety standards

• Investigate incidents, review accident reports, and recommend corrective actions

• Build safety plans based on site trends, recurring accidents, and operational risk areas

• Facilitate safety training for warehouse teams, drivers, forklift operators, and managers

• Partner with operations leadership on safety metrics, KPIs, audits, and improvement plans

• Support site inspections, compliance audits, and safety program rollouts

• Help create a stronger safety culture across a multi-site distribution environment

Ideal Background

• Experience in transportation safety, warehouse safety, fleet safety, logistics safety, or EHS

• Strong knowledge of OSHA and DOT/FMCSR requirements

• Hands-on experience with safety training, incident investigation, accident reporting, and corrective actions

• Strong communication skills with managers and frontline employees

• Comfortable with approximately 50% travel

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

• Food distribution, logistics, warehousing, trucking, or supply chain experience preferred
