A growing critical access healthcare facility in Watford City, ND is seeking a full-time Pharmacist to join its collaborative, patient-centered care team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Pharmacist who wants to practice at the top of their license, support a diverse patient population, and make a meaningful impact across multiple areas of care.
The Pharmacist will provide essential inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services and will support clinical teams across emergency care, medical/surgical units, labor and delivery, pediatrics/neonatal care, surgical services, and additional patient care areas. This role is well-suited for an experienced pharmacist or a motivated new graduate looking to build strong clinical experience in a supportive healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and verify physicians’ medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, dosing, and potential drug interactions
• Prepare and dispense medications for inpatient and outpatient use according to facility protocols
• Monitor patient responses to prescribed medications and recommend adjustments as appropriate
• Advise physicians, nurses, and clinical staff on medication selection, dosage, interactions, side effects, and safe administration
• Participate in patient rounds and provide pharmaceutical input into care plans
• Support medication management across emergency, med-surg, labor and delivery, pediatrics/neonates, and surgical care areas
• Ensure medications are stored securely and handled in compliance with legal, safety, and regulatory standards
• Maintain accurate documentation of medications dispensed, inventory levels, and pharmacy records
• Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff on drug therapies, medication safety, and proper use
• Stay current on formulary updates, evidence-based treatment guidelines, and pharmacy best practices
• Supervise and support day-to-day activities of pharmacy technician staff
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
• Valid Pharmacist license, or ability to obtain licensure in the state
• Strong clinical knowledge of pharmacology and therapeutics
• Experience with Epic preferred
• Familiarity with sterile compounding and IV admixture preferred
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
• Ability to manage high workloads, prioritize tasks, and maintain patient safety
