Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour, based on experience
We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to support import operations for an established international logistics and customs brokerage organization.
This position is responsible for preparing customs documentation, coordinating freight releases, tracking shipments, and working with customers, carriers, warehouses, truckers, and internal departments to ensure cargo is cleared and delivered efficiently.
Responsibilities- Prepare and process customs entries and import documentation.
- Clear imported goods through U.S. Customs and facilitate final delivery.
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, arrival notices, and supporting documentation.
- Classify merchandise using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
- Calculate applicable duties, taxes, and tariff payments.
- Monitor customs clearance and freight release status.
- Track shipments and provide customers with timely status updates.
- Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, CFS warehouses, truckers, customers, and internal departments.
- Identify missing or inaccurate documentation and request corrections.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and meet regulatory requirements.
- Build positive working relationships with customers and logistics partners.
- At least one year of experience in logistics, imports, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or customs clearance is preferred.
- Familiarity with import documentation and shipment coordination.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Candidates with relevant education in International Business, Supply Chain, Transportation, or Logistics are encouraged to apply.
