GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Maintenance Planner helps support both preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on the facilities and equipment. This role partners with maintenance staff, engineering, production, and purchasing to effectively improve equipment up time. The Maintenance Planner will help identify and implement an CMMS system to schedule PMs, help write PMs for new equipment, and assist Maintenance techs to troubleshoot equipment. The role will work with purchasing, production, and engineering to reduce costs through up time improvements, and parts and labor savings. The Planner will have hands on interaction with equipment in troubleshooting or assisting the Maintenance team. Also, oversight of facility related vendor repairs and capital projects related to facilities upkeep and new facility equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implements CMMS System for PMs and CMs (trains production staff on CM requisition process)
- Devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events
- Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and leverages CMMS for tracking work orders
- Develops inspection and audit procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system is in place
- Works closely with technicians, engineers, and operations to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime
- Utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible
- Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts
- Technical support on floor assisting with troubleshooting of equipment issues
- Sources for and manages contractors for work orders, projects, and upgrades that can’t be done in-house.
- Conducts required Contractor safety training
- Compiling parts and supplies lists needed for work orders and projects
- Maintains conformance with safety rules and regulations
- Ensures safety by all and reports concerns
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:
- Experience in leading projects in a manufacturing setting
- Preferably implemented CMMS software at one point in their career
- Must be mechanically inclined, preferred experience is with hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of PLCs programming and any electrical background is a plus
- Must be flexible and willing to learn new techniques, as well as adapt to existing best practices
- Possess the ability to learn hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems used on Mohawk’s lifts
- Must be detail oriented and highly organized
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language, and be understood.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and other software applications.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience as a maintenance tech in a manufacturing setting
- Prior experience of at least 3 years using CMMS software
- Prior experience organizing maintenance workflow
CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid NYS driver’s license.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Physical activity includes walking, standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, bending, reaching above shoulders, and lifting up to 50 pounds. If work demands require lifting in excess of 50 pounds, the use of a mechanical device or initiation of a two-person lift is required.
