JOB SUMMARY:
The Training & Development Specialist is responsible for supporting employee training programs, learning management system (LMS) administration, training documentation, and workforce development initiatives across MXS. This role works closely with department leaders to identify training gaps, coordinate learning activities, maintain compliance records, and support the development of scalable training programs for manufacturing and operational teams.
The Training & Development Specialist plays a key role in supporting employee development, onboarding, compliance training, and continuous improvement initiatives by helping ensure employees have access to effective, organized, and trackable training resources.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Administer and maintain the company Learning Management System (LMS), including Moodle or equivalent platforms
· Enroll employees in required training courses and learning pathways
· Track, document, and maintain employee training records and completion data
· Generate training compliance reports and training status updates for supervisors and leadership
· Partner with department managers to identify training needs, workforce skill gaps, and development opportunities
· Assist in the design, development, and implementation of training materials, presentations, job aids, and course content
· Support onboarding and recurring training initiatives for manufacturing and operational personnel
· Coordinate training schedules, assignments, and communications with employees and supervisors
· Maintain training documentation and ensure compliance with company procedures and applicable requirements
· Support continuous improvement initiatives related to employee development and training processes
· Assist with the development of standardized training programs and role-based learning paths
· Provide basic LMS troubleshooting and user support as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience administering Moodle or a comparable Learning Management System (LMS)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in training coordination, employee development, instructional support, or training program administration
Preferred:
- Experience developing training materials, courseware, or instructional content
- Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment preferred
- Experience supporting compliance-based training programs preferred
- Experience tracking and reporting training metrics and completion data
Education:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in education, Training & Development, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience will be considered
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
