Embedded Software Design Release Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Embedded Software Design Release Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. This role will support embedded software development by delivering software work packages, diagnostics, and OTA updates across vehicle programs.

Rate Range: $40/hour to $42/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Embedded Software Design Release Engineer Job Responsibilities Include

• Deliver software work packages through the change management process, including releases, documentation, validation, and OTA updates.
• Support embedded software development by troubleshooting DTC issues, diagnostics, and quality early detection concerns.
• Collaborate on cross-module vehicle network communications (e.g., CAN, OTA, E2E) and system integration activities.
• Support prototype and pre-production builds, including software flashing, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
• Lead or participate in software technical design reviews (TDRs) and ensure compliance with ASPICE and central software requirements.
• Support assembly plant end-of-line (EOL) setup, service documentation, and Agile software development processes.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in chassis or powertrain controls / embedded systems development (5 years preferred for Design Release Engineer role).
• Hands-on experience supporting embedded software design, diagnostics, and vehicle network communications (e.g., CAN, OTA).
• Strong understanding of software change management, ASPICE compliance, and experience supporting prototype builds and issue resolution.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
