Job Overview
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as the primary People partner for team members and leaders across Modern Wealth’s regional offices in the Mountain and Pacific time zones. This role provides hands-on, consultative HR support with a strong focus on employee relations, policy governance, and compliance. The HRBP partners closely with the Head of People to ensure consistency, scalability, and alignment with firm-wide People strategy while acting as a trusted advisor to leaders and a primary point of contact for employees.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary HR point of contact for leaders and employees in assigned Mountain and Pacific time zone offices.
Provide day-to-day HR guidance related to performance management, employee development, coaching, and organizational effectiveness.
Partner with leaders to proactively identify people-related risks, trends, and opportunities within their teams.
Support workforce changes and growth initiatives in collaboration with the Head of People.
Lead and manage employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and performance improvement processes.
Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices across assigned regions.
Advise leaders on corrective action, documentation, and risk mitigation in alignment with employment law and company standards.
Escalate complex or high-risk employee relations matters to the Head of People as appropriate.
Own the review, maintenance, and ongoing updates of company HR policies and the employee handbook.
Ensure policies remain compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws, with particular attention to multi-state requirements.
Partner with Legal, Compliance, and external advisors to support policy updates as needed.
Communicate policy updates clearly and effectively to leaders and employees.
Collaborate closely with the HRBP supporting Central and Eastern time zones to ensure a consistent employee experience across the organization.
Partner with Recruiting, Payroll, Training, Compliance, and IT to support employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding and offboarding.
Support change management initiatives such as growth, leadership transitions, and organizational change.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
SHRM-CP or HRCI certification required
SHRM California (SHRM-CA) certification strongly preferred
3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated strength in employee relations and multi-state compliance
Experience supporting high-growth or multi-location organizations preferred
Strong working knowledge of employment law, employee relations best practices, and HR policy development
Excellent judgment and discretion with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally and empathetically
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with leaders at all levels

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
