Overview
We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in the field and will be skilled in performing various nuclear medicine procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of radioactive materials and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a variety of nuclear medicine procedures, including but not limited to:
- Gastric Emptying
- HIDA Scan
- Muga Scan
- Bone Scan (3 Phase, Limited, Whole Body)
- Brain Scan (Cerebral Blood Flow)
- Liver/Spleen Scan (Liver Imaging, Liver Scan-Hemangioma)
- Lung Scan (DTPA Aerosol, Perfusion, Ventilation/Perfusion)
- Renal Flow (Flow/Function, Renal/Perfusion, Three Phase, With Lasix)
- Thyroid Studies (Cancer Survey, I-123 Uptake Scan, Tumor Localization)
- SPECT (Bone, Brain, Liver, Renal, Sestamibi Parathyroid Scan)
- Myocardial Scans (Adenosine Infusion, Exercise/Rest-Multiple)
- Draw venous blood and maintain isolation precautions as needed.
- Start and maintain intravenous lines.
- Handle and dispose of radioactive materials following safety protocols.
- Document patient information and procedures accurately using Epic and Pyxis systems.
Work Schedule
- Shift: Day shift (08:30 AM - 05:00 PM)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, rotating nights required
- Weekend coverage: Every third weekend
- Call requirement: Yes
Patient Care
You will be responsible for caring for patients across various age groups, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The expected patient ratio is 1:4.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Certification: ARRT N, CNMT (preferred).
- Previous charge experience and trauma level I or II experience are preferred.
- Community hospital experience is required.
Technical Skills
- Experience with Siemens equipment.
- Knowledge in handling, storing, and disposing of radioactive materials.
- Ability to work in a variety of settings, including adult care, clinics, hospitals, nuclear cardiology, and pediatrics.
Orientation
A 40-hour orientation will be provided to familiarize you with the unit and procedures.
