Sr. Infrastructure Engineer

Our close client for over the last 15 years, one of the world's most influential science-led companies, is looking to add a Network Engineer to their team immediately. They are a global powerhouse operating across 170 countries, keeping the world's food safer, water cleaner, and energy systems more efficient.

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to plan, implement, and operate enterprise network and voice platform services to keep connectivity reliable, performance strong, and the business running without interruption. It sets technical direction for infrastructure projects, partners with internal stakeholders and outside vendors, and leads recovery efforts during incidents so services come back online quickly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the strategic roadmap for network and voice platform lifecycle management, keeping plans aligned with broader technology and business goals
• Lead infrastructure delivery for site and campus initiatives, including planning, cutover execution, and post-launch stabilization support
• Monitor milestones, risks, and dependencies, escalating issues and driving them toward timely resolution
• Ensure network and voice designs align with organizational strategy, standards, and operational readiness
• Provide technical and procedural direction for the implementation, configuration, and validation of infrastructure changes
• Partner with telecom and technology vendors on delivery, service quality, invoicing support, and issue resolution
• Own the full lifecycle of network and voice platforms, including planning, upgrades, patching, and decommissioning
• Operate and troubleshoot core infrastructure technologies spanning switching, voice/telephony systems, DNS, cloud networking, and load balancing
• Lead voice engineering delivery where applicable, including gateway replacements, firmware upgrades, SIP configuration, and dial plan or route pattern changes
• Own emergency-calling (E-911) system configuration, testing, and ongoing compliance where the role supports voice systems
• Administer and tune cloud contact-center environments, including call flows, IVR design, and agent routing, where applicable
• Support hardphone and softphone environments, along with voice integrations for major collaboration and unified communications platforms
• Extend voice gateway support to intercom and paging systems
• Maintain accurate documentation and configuration records, including site diagrams and asset/configuration data in supporting systems
• Monitor platform health and performance, respond to incidents, and initiate recovery actions after failures
• Provide global support, upgrades, and backstopping alongside other infrastructure and voice engineers on the team

Minimum Experience

• At least 6-8 years of hands-on voice/telecom engineering experience for voice-focused candidates
• Experience with voice/telephony technologies, telecom design and architecture, call center systems, switching, load balancing, and DNS
• Strong, hands-on Cisco SIP-based voice engineering experience, including gateway replacements, firmware upgrades, and hardphone/softphone environments, for voice-focused candidates
• Experience with Cisco session border controller technology (e.g., Cisco CUBE) and familiarity with PBX phone systems
• Experience working with third-party telecom vendors and fluency in telecom terminology, including call flows, routing, trunking, and DID/PRI concepts
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Emergency Responder (CER) or comparable E-911 systems for voice-focused candidates
• Experience generating and maintaining process and technical documentation
