Location: Abilene, TX (Full Relocation Assistance Provided)
Compensation: Highly Competitive Base Performance Bonus Full Benefits
Let’s be direct: We know Abilene isn’t Dallas, Austin, or Houston. But if you are tired of a grueling daily metro commute, skyrocketing housing costs, and being a microscopic cog in a massive Wall Street machine, this is your exit strategy.
MMC Group has been retained by one of the most financially sound, top-rated regional banking corporations in the state. This isn’t a checklist-ticking compliance job. As an AVP-level Senior Auditor, you will have a direct line of sight to executive leadership, substantial autonomy, and the backing of an organization that genuinely prioritizes a robust risk framework. You get major-market career visibility with a West Texas cost of living and quality of life!
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
You will own the execution of risk-based internal audits across financial crimes compliance and regulatory programs. You’re the critical line of defense ensuring multi-entity operations remain defensible and regulator-ready.
- Own the Financial Crimes Scope: Plan and execute audits covering the heavy hitters: BSA, AML, OFAC, Sanctions screening, SARs, CDD/EDD, and transaction monitoring.
- Protect the Consumer Framework: Lead audit testing across key consumer regulations (including Reg Z, Reg E, Fair Lending, and Servicemembers Civil Relief Act).
- Collaborate & Influence: You won't just find gaps; you’ll partner with business leaders to build practical, risk-based remediation plans and validate their corrective actions.
- Manage Co-Sourcing: Act as the primary corporate liaison for external or co-sourced audit partners, managing project scope, schedules, and deliverables.
Why You’ll Perfect This Role
We aren't looking for a passive reviewer. We need an analytical thinker who knows banking regulations inside and out and can communicate complex risk impacts clearly to executive stakeholders.
The Absolute Must-Haves:
- Experience: 4 to 5 years of progressive internal audit, regulatory compliance, or public accounting experience specifically within a regulated financial institution.
- The Blueprint: Deep working knowledge of BSA/AML frameworks, internal audit standards (IIA), and risk-based testing methodologies.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
The Standout Extras (Nice to Haves):
- You already hold (or have a definitive plan to grab) your CAMS, CRCM, or CIA credentials.
- Experience navigating the complexities of multi-entity or holding-company financial structures.
