What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meter Technician position at MLEC?
Responsibilities include setting and removing meters, disconnecting meters for nonpayment, collecting delinquent accounts, assisting line crews in the field by flagging, pulling wire, doing ground work, etc. and performing light maintenance of buildings and grounds and working in the warehouse. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Customer service experience and experience working in an outdoor environment required. Experience in handling delinquent accounts, dealing with public for a utility and operating a fork-lift is helpful.
Applicants must reside in (or be willing to relocate to the) Lewis County service area or within the MLEC service territory and within 30 minutes of the Lewis County office. A Class A CDL is required or must be obtained with six months of hire. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
