A General Contractor in the Greenville area is looking for an Industrial Superintendent.
The company is a well regarded firm in the local market with around 400 employees across the Carolinas. They have a growing industrial division that has years of local backlog. HQ in Greenville with offices in Charleston, Columbia, Charlotte, Ashville. The business operates across the commercial, wastewater and industrial market sectors, projects ranging from small renovations to large manufacturing, higher education and healthcare projects.
Role Description:
- We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead the on-site execution of industrial construction projects from start to finish. This role is responsible for managing field operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial construction, including manufacturing, processing facilities, or distribution centers.
Responsibilities:
Site Leadership & Execution
- Oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion
- Manage day-to-day field operations, ensuring work is progressing according to schedule
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
- Maintain a strong on-site presence and lead by example
Scheduling & Planning
- Develop and manage short-term and long-term project schedules
- Coordinate sequencing of trades to maximise efficiency and minimise delays
- Identify potential scheduling risks and implement mitigation strategies
Health & Safety
- Enforce all health & safety policies and procedures on-site
- Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and audits
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
- Promote a proactive safety culture across all trades
Quality Control
- Ensure all work meets project specifications, drawings, and quality standards
- Conduct regular inspections and manage punch lists
- Coordinate with project team to resolve design or constructability issues
Qualifications & Experience
- 5 years as a leading superintendent on industrial or complex commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems
- Experience with manufacturing facilities, warehouses, distribution centers, or processing plants
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and complex project scopes
Salary : $130,000 - $150,000
