Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Director of Human Resources to build, lead, and scale the HR function. This is a strategic and operational role responsible for the full HR spectrum: recruiting, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, payroll, benefits, performance management, and people strategy.
The ideal candidate is trusted by leadership and field teams, comfortable working on-site, and fluent in English and Spanish. This role is about building scalable systems, not just maintaining existing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent & Development: Lead recruiting, onboarding, and training programs for office and field employees.
- Performance & Compensation: Manage performance reviews, KPIs, and compensation processes.
- Employee Relations & Compliance: Handle employee relations, investigations, and ensure legal and industry compliance.
- Payroll & Benefits: Oversee payroll accuracy, benefits administration, and related risk management.
- HR Systems & Infrastructure: Improve HR processes, systems, and reporting to support growth.
- Culture & Organizational Development: Foster a positive, inclusive culture and support workforce planning and engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
- 7–12 years progressive HR experience, including senior leadership
- Construction or specialty contracting experience in a field-based environment
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Deep knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and industry regulations
- Proven ability to build scalable HR processes and systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
