Warehouse Custodian
Location: Richmond, VA
Pay: $15.50/hour; increases to $16/hour upon conversion to permanent employment
Hours: 7:00 AM until finished
Schedule: Five days per week, scheduled Sunday–Friday. Saturdays and one additional weekday off.
We are seeking a dependable Custodian for a food distribution warehouse supplying fresh produce, dairy, eggs, and gourmet food products to foodservice businesses throughout the Mid-Atlantic. This position maintains the cleanliness of the facility and employee areas, including work in and around a cold, wet warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Clean restrooms, breakrooms, offices, hallways, and other designated areas.
- Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
- Empty trash and recycling containers.
- Restock restroom and cleaning supplies.
- Clean tables, counters, door handles, and other frequently touched surfaces.
- Keep cleaning supplies organized and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Follow cleaning procedures and wear required protective equipment.
Requirements:
- Excellent attendance and punctuality are required.
- Must be comfortable working in a cold, wet warehouse environment.
- Must be available to work the assigned schedule, including Sundays, until daily tasks are completed.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform cleaning duties throughout the shift.
- Ability to follow instructions and safely use cleaning products.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, or warehouse cleaning experience preferred.
