Staff Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY:Under limited supervision, responsible for performing various accounting functions to include accounts receivable, cash application, manual invoicing, inter-company billings, confirmations and reconciliations, BS account reconciliationsThe essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:Accounts ReceivableProcess daily cash application from lockboxes, wire transfers, credit cards, and deposit slips sent to bank and files supporting documents.Prepare intra- and inter-company fund transfers.Inter-company Billings, Confirmations and ReconciliationsPrepare inter-company invoices and debit/credit memos to MELCO and affiliated companies for payments made by MEUS on their behalf and for common expense allocation charges such as group benefits.Confirms monthly balances & transaction with affiliated companies.Prepare miscellaneous billings as requested by the business units.Performs accounting for Aetna insurance policy, including tracking daily claims payments, reconciliation to monthly reports and billing to affiliates.Perform as back up for posting bank account activitiesPerform as back up for creating and posting payroll journal entries.Balance Sheet accounts reconciliationsBank reconciliationsAffiliate GL account reconciliationsEmployee benefit-related account reconciliationsFixed asset account reconciliationsPerform other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:BS/BA Accounting or equivalent work experienceMinimum 2-3 years work experience in AR and general accounting.Intermediate Excel skillsLarge ERP experience, preferably SAPThe pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $72,800 and $100,100/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including commissions based on achieving individual performance and/or sales metrics, incentive compensation and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
