Staff Accountant II (Manufacturing)

Position Summary
A well-established manufacturing company in Anaheim, CA is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant II to support its growing finance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within a manufacturing or production environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards while providing financial insights that drive strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Manage accounts receivable and collection activities across multiple locations:
- Generate and distribute customer invoices.
- Process and apply payments in ERP systems.
- Monitor aging reports and perform collection follow-ups when necessary.
- Oversee accounts payable processes:
- Ensure timely and accurate entry of vendor invoices.
- Collaborate with purchasing and receiving to resolve pricing and quantity discrepancies.
- Prepare and process weekly vendor payments.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities for multiple business units.
- Assist with internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and reconciliations.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts and other key accounts.
- Contribute to ERP and AP automation software implementations and process improvements.
- Participate in cross-departmental projects and support additional accounting functions as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting best practices.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (such as Global Shop, Epicor, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and time management capabilities.
