Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Continuous Improvement Intern in Suwanee, GA for the Fall 2025 Semester.

Target Hours: 32 hours per week

Location: Onsite, Suwanee, GA

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position works closely with the Continuous Improvement (CI) team and Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US (METUS) internal customers to support continuous improvement deployment throughout METUS. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about continuous improvement tools and techniques via attending and assisting with training classes and supporting projects and kaizen events.

The Continuous Improvement Intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects associated with lean. In addition, they will provide support to the CI team to reduce waste throughout METUS. They will assist with continuous improvement projects and contribute towards and support annual productivity goals, working with cross-functional teams.

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Review documentation related to policies, procedures, and standard work.
  • Collect and maintain CI records for work area including creating action lists, participating as necessary, and investigating and documenting issues.
  • Collect data related to current processes, flows, and improvement opportunities.
  • Identify waste in processes and work to remove it.
  • Work closely with the operations team to establish work standards.
  • Utilize Six Sigma and/or Lean principles.
  • Assist process owners with fine tuning True North Metrics and Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) Process.
  • Complete kaizen event and/or projects data collection and analysis to support process owners.
  • Use data to drive productivity improvements.
  • Learn to eliminate waste in the workplace.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with sophomore year completed, or recently graduated, in Business, Operations, or Engineering.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience in Jira, Minitab, Access, Publisher and Visio preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team member, while using discretion in making decisions and sound judgment in solving problems.
  • Highly organized, quality conscious with great attention to detail.
  • Eager to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced setting.
  • Team player demonstrating METUS core values including a desire to win together, deliver excellence, drive sustainability, focus on execution and learn continuously.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $16.54 and $22.74 per hour, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including target bonus plans and discretionary awards. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Employees will also receive 80 hours of vacation per year, 56 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, depending on hire date. Employees may also take up to 12 weeks of paid or unpaid [parental/disability/emergency/etc.] leave, if eligible.
