Role Description
Responsible for the performance of the Packing & Warehouse Operating Teams in the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Teammate Development.
- Safety:
- Responsible for overall operating team safety culture and behavior.
- Review and follow-up on incident investigation and documentation for safety issues.
- Lead and participate in safety initiatives, projects, meetings, etc.
- Encourage and conduct risk assessments.
- Educate team on hazard recognition.
- Promotes “Safety Always” culture.
- Quality:
- Develop and maintain quality focused culture and environment.
- Responsible for overall operating team quality performance.
- Review and follow-up of significant quality issues.
- Productivity:
- Ensure teams are following schedule and plans established for their areas.
- Ensures proper support is contacted for issues.
- Monitors team performance against metrics throughout the shift and ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Ensure teammates are working efficiently and being utilized properly.
- Teammate Development:
- Administers mid-year and annual performance appraisals for each teammate.
- Conducts teammate development plans. Develop plans to improve performance and skills for both the individual and the team.
- Provides feedback (both positive and constructive) to teammates and administers corrective action as needed.
- Coordinates teammate training plans with area trainer.
- Help coordinate teammate and team improvement projects. Ensures teammates are using “profitable behaviors”. Works with support team to ensure proper training is completed in a timely manner. This includes skill certification, skill depth needs, cross training, and job rotation.
- Administers vacation and O.T. for operating teams to assure that adequate staffing is available.
- Coordinates with other areas on plans and workflow (Films, Polycycle, Customer Service, Production Planning).
- Ensures area housekeeping.
- Other duties as assigned by Area Manager
- High School Diploma - Required
- Good leadership skills, effective communicator, and is a positive role model.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a supervisory position.
- Demonstrates a drive for continual improvement, high initiative, and has a positive attitude.
- Demonstrates good organizational, problem solving, computer, and team development skills.
- Knowledge of packing and warehouse area and material flow a plus.
- Demonstrates good interaction and coaching skills.
- Exhibits understanding of key business metrics.
- Willingness to work off hours as needed (Safety issues, production issues, teammate meetings, communication to other shifts, etc.).
Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
