Position Title: Anticipated Dining Room Assistant
Location: Mitchell Primary School
Reports to: Kendra Downs, Building Administrator
Position Start Date: 8/26/2026
Deadline: Until suitable candidate is found
General Purpose:
The Dining Room Assistant main focus is to provide assistance for our youngest learners(PreK, K and 1st Grade) during lunch and assisting with clean up after lunch services.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Assistant students with efficient passage through lunch service
Assist students with tricky food packaging
Assist students with "flow" of the lunch break
Assist students with decision making
Assist students with timely consumption of food items
Encourage student independence over time
Washing tables at the end of the lunch service
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Dependability and work ethic
Working knowledge of child development, disabilities and family systems
Exhibit patience with young children
Exhibit friendly and firm expectations for young children
Exhibit a positive professionalism with supervisors, coworkers, students and community members
Interact with a wide variety of people
Maintaining composure in stressful or unexpected situations
Physical Demands:
The employee is required to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Must be able to lift and move 10 pounds.
