Position Title: Anticipated Dining Room AssistantLocation: Mitchell Primary SchoolReports to: Kendra Downs, Building AdministratorPosition Start Date: 8/26/2026Deadline: Until suitable candidate is foundGeneral Purpose: The Dining Room Assistant main focus is to provide assistance for our youngest learners(PreK, K and 1st Grade) during lunch and assisting with clean up after lunch services.Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities: Assistant students with efficient passage through lunch serviceAssist students with tricky food packagingAssist students with "flow" of the lunch breakAssist students with decision makingAssist students with timely consumption of food itemsEncourage student independence over timeWashing tables at the end of the lunch serviceMinimum Qualifications: High school diplomaRequired Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Dependability and work ethicWorking knowledge of child development, disabilities and family systemsExhibit patience with young childrenExhibit friendly and firm expectations for young childrenExhibit a positive professionalism with supervisors, coworkers, students and community membersInteract with a wide variety of peopleMaintaining composure in stressful or unexpected situationsPhysical Demands: The employee is required to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
