Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) – ASME Fabrication
Job Location: Hartville, Ohio
Job Type: Full time – Dayshift
MITCO Fabrication & Welding LLC – Northeast Ohio
MITCO is hiring a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support fabrication of ASME pressure vessels and piping (Section VIII Div. 1, Section I, B31.1, B31.3).
What You’ll Do
- Perform in-process and final inspections
- Verify compliance with WPS/PQR/WPQ (ASME Section IX)
- Inspect welds (VT) and support NDE (PT/MT/RT/UT)
- Review fit-up, materials, and fabrication quality
- Interface with Authorized Inspector (AI)
- Complete inspection reports and turnover documentation
Requirements
- AWS CWI (required)
- 3 years in ASME fabrication or industrial piping
- Strong knowledge of:
- ASME Section VIII, Section I, B31.1 or B31.3
- Welding and inspection practices
- Ability to read drawings and weld symbols
Also Considered
- ASNT Level II/III (VT, MT, PT) in lieu of CWI (or in addition)
- Experience with pressure vessels or power/process piping
