Job Description: The Health Professions Apprenticeship Curriculum Developer (Grant Funded) is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative and effective curriculum for workforce healthcare certifications and health professions credit and non-credit programs. This role requires a multi-faceted understanding of health professions education, instructional principles and design, course delivery formats, the specific needs of a diverse student population and the workforce needs of healthcare organizations. This position coordinates with the College Chair of Health Professions and reports directly to the AVP for the School of Nursing and Health Professions.
Job Duties
(M1) Minimum of Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, health professions, curriculum development, or a related field.
(M2) Experience in designing and developing curriculum for health professions programs.
(M3) Three (3) years teaching experience.
(M4) Strong understanding of instructional design principles and theories.
(M5) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
(M6) Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications
(D1) Master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in health professions education, curriculum development, or a related field.
(D2) Knowledge of health professions accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
(D3) Experience teaching adults.
(D4) Experience in online course development or distance education.
(D5) Certifications in instructional design or project management.

- Analyze and assess existing curriculum to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop new curriculum and instructional materials that align with program goals and industry standards.
- Incorporate evidence-based teaching and learning strategies into curriculum design.
- Create engaging and interactive learning experiences for students.
- Design and develop instructional materials, such as textbooks, handouts, presentations, and online modules.
- Create assessments and evaluation tools to measure student learning outcomes.
- Develop and implement instructional strategies that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and clinical reasoning.
- Provide professional development opportunities for faculty to enhance their teaching skills.
- Support faculty in implementing effective teaching methods and using innovative instructional technologies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Collect and analyze data to inform curriculum improvements.
- Collaborate with program administrators to ensure program accreditation and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay informed about advancements in health professions education, healthcare trends, and industry best practices.
- Attend conferences, workshops, and other professional development activities.
- Perform all related and implied duties and such others as may be assigned.
