Military Credit for Prior Learning Strategist - Fordham University

Who we Need

MissionWise seeks an experienced Credit for Prior Learning Strategist who will lead Fordham’s approach to recognize and apply college-level learning acquired during military service toward university degree completion. The goal is to reduce time-to-degree and cost for military veterans.

Summary of Duties

● Identify most common pathways from the military into Fordham University’s Schools and Colleges and the training/learning experiences associated with those pathways

● Work with Fordham’s Schools and Colleges to secure guaranteed grants of credit toward advanced standing in degrees and certificates most popular with military students

● Work closely with OMVS communications and marketing teams to ensure proper messaging of guaranteed grants to prospective students

● Work closely with University partners in other departments to advance your priorities and initiatives and to support theirs

● Help Fordham University to identify new opportunities for students and collaboration with military partners

Requirements

● Experience planning and executing credit for prior learning approaches in higher education settings

● Experience working with military-affiliated students and Joint Service Transcripts (JSTs)

● Experience collaborating with departmental and cross-functional colleagues in a range of university settings

● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including military and community organizations

● Proficient skills and working knowledge of cloud-based and computer software systems including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and team communication applications

● Ability to work in the U.S.

● Bachelor’s degree required

Salary

● 85,000-90,000

Location

● This is a hybrid role, with work expected to be performed on campus at Fordham University three days per week and remotely otherwise. Travel between Fordham’s Rosehill and Lincoln campuses will be required. Additionally, travel to other locations connected to Fordham and to military-connected sites may occasionally be required.

● While employed by MissionWise, this position reports directly to the Executive Director of Military & Veterans’ Services at Fordham University
